I grew up in East Hawkesbury since I was six. My family ran a campground business here for 27 years, which I have converted to a community garden so that people have a safe space to grow local, healthy food. I have been active in the community through music, theatre, business and activism. East Hawkesbury is my home.
Professionally I aided Beau's brewery's certification as a B-Corp, delivered their beer, represented them on the board of directors for Sustain Ontario, and managed their organic certification status. As a board member of the non-profit Eco East, I actively support the UCPR in developing a regional climate action plan. I have helped install wood stoves in the region (including East Hawkesbury) for Sunworks and I currently work as a gardener at Harmony Gardens in Dalkeith.
I love to listen to people and I have a passion for understanding their issues and perspectives. With my B.A. in law and a B.Sc, I endeavour to make educated decisions based on facts and solid data. I prefer to involve everyone in the decision-making process. Democracy is important, transparency even more. I am here to help my community.
I am serious about making a difference and listening to the community's concerns. Also, I am part of a younger generation that needs to be represented at council. My experience with the Green Party in the last provincial election has given me the tools and conviction to use local politics as a way to benefit people's lives.
I am committed to integrating equity, fiscal responsibility and sustainability into council's decisions to benefit the habitats, businesses, farmland and communities of East Hawkesbury for generations to come.
Cultivate fiscal responsability to help mitigate the impacts of inflation
Maintain transparency and accountability in governance
Ensure municipal infrastructure is climate ready by making efficient use of grants and resources from organisations such as the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM)
